EFL Pre-service Teachers' Online Reading Strategy Use and their Insight into Teaching Reading

The purpose of this study is to investigate the usage online reading strategies among EFL pre-service teachers in Education Program and their pedagogical practices teaching reading. A total 107 participants from English program East Java were involved study. mixed-method design was used as research approach. For data collection, present Second Language Online Reading Strategy Inventory (SLORSI) closed-ended questionnaire semi-structured interviews. Overall, 13 interview session. Based on statistical analysis questionnaire, it found that showed a high level (M= 3,71 – 4.14). most frequently Saving strategy 4,14). However, results inconsistent with questionnaire; although reading, they offered different perspectives mentioned inadequate digital literacy for future classes. Therefore, suggests education programs must highlight importance providing explicit practice using model students.
